Leif, was born in Cobleskill, NY.
Cobleskill, is located in upstate New York between the Adirondack and
Catskill mountains. He moved to North Carolina in 1997. He married his
high-school sweetheart, Rose, and together they have three children and
one granddaughter. What type of man is Leif...he is honest, steadfast,
loyal and sometimes grouchy! When he's not working, Leif, can be found
spending time with his family and friends. He enjoys four-wheeling,
playing in the dirt and mud, camping, fishing, hunting and Texas Hold-Em. Leif's plan for the future
is to grow his business into a multi-million dollar company so that when
the time comes, he can pass it down to the fourth- generation of Cole
earthmovers, his children. Email Leif:

Stephen, Leif's eldest son, has been a member of Northstar since it's
inception. Stephen works 5-6 days a week during the summer and on
weekends during the school year. He is next in line to assume the family
business. A young man of 15, he is already a skilled Trackhoe Operator
and does the job as well as men twice his age. Besides operating the
Trackhoe, he can run both the Backhoe and Bobcat. He is also skilled in
mechanics. Stephen, is what Leif, calls a "natural" to the earthmoving
profession. It's in his blood. Stephen enjoys riding his dirt bike,
riding four-wheelers, hunting, skateboarding and fishing. Email Stephen:

Sean, Leif's youngest son, at 13, is the
youngest member (Besides Baby Brianna!) of the Northstar Team but make
no mistake about it, he does a man's work! Along with his brother, he is
next in line to assume the family business. Sean, works 3-5 days a week
during the summer and on weekends, occasionally, during the school year.
Sean, is becoming very skilled on the backhoe and does all types of
general laboring. He is full of energy and spunk! Sean, enjoys a
multitude of activities and is a superstar at football! He plays both defensive and offensive line
for the Pop Warner Oak Ridge Colts and is a force to be reckoned
with on his football team!

Gene Shay, Driver |
Gene, is the senior member of the Northstar family and came to work for Northstar in 2001. Before coming to work for Northstar he was employed as an Over The Road Truck Driver for FedEx. He has been to 48 states and 5 Providences in Canada. Gene, hails from Indiana. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his daughter, April, and going fishing. His favorite food is seafood and least favorite is carrots. His favorite color is red. What does Leif say about Gene..."Gene, is a good, honest man, highly dependable and knowledgeable. A top notch employee". |

Rose, Leif's wife, is in charge of all Office Operations. She oversees everything that comes into or goes out of the office and everything in between. Her official title is Office Manager. She has been charge of Office Operations since Northstar's inception. Rose, is Leif's right hand woman. She has been just as much a part of building the business as Leif, has. She too, has put her own blood, sweat and tears into Northstar. When needed she works out in the field right along side of Leif, running the packer or doing general laboring. When she's not running the office (and often when she is!), you will find Rose taking care of her three children and her granddaughter. She is a full-time mom and grandmother! Were still trying to figure out how she does it all while maintaining her sanity! She is often the first one up and the last one to go to bed. In her free time (which isn't much) you can find Rose, down at the Bingo Hall in Eden. She enjoys four-wheeling, hanging out with family and friends and fishing. Rose considers her greatest accomplishment in life to be: "My greatest accomplishment in life is being able to keep my family functioning (as dysfunctional as they are at times :) ~ Rose Cole". Desiree, Leif's daughter, also his first born, assists in the main office and out in the field as a General Laborer. She is an Honor Roll student, as a Junior at McMichael High School, she takes all Advanced Placement courses. She aspires to be either a Marine Biologist or an Attorney when she grows up. Desiree, enjoys riding her four-wheeler, hanging out with family and friends, using the computer, movies, camping and traveling.
